Affordable Web Hosting for Australian Websites with cPanel, DirectAdmin or Plesk

Our web hosting plans give Australian individuals and small businesses an inexpensive way to get a website online without managing a server. You choose cPanel or DirectAdmin on Linux, or Plesk on Windows, and the control panel takes care of files, email, databases and SSL. Every plan includes a free SSL certificate that we install for you.

To be clear from the start: these shared plans are served from a data centre in the Netherlands, not from Sydney. They are billed yearly, from US$25 to US$79, which keeps costs very low for small sites. If your project needs an Australian server location for the fastest local response, our Sydney VPS plans are the right choice. This page helps you decide which option fits, and how to get the most from a shared plan.

Your Choice of Control Panel

Pick cPanel or DirectAdmin for Linux hosting, or Plesk for Windows hosting. All three give you a web-based dashboard to manage files, email accounts, databases, domains and backups without touching the command line.

Free SSL Installed for You

Each plan includes a free SSL certificate, and we handle the installation. Your site loads over HTTPS from day one, which protects visitors' data, avoids browser warnings and supports your search visibility.

Email Accounts on Your Domain

Create professional addresses such as sales@yourbusiness.com.au. The Personal plan includes 10 email accounts, Pro raises that to 75, and Business offers 100, so small teams can each have their own mailbox.

Sub-domains and Addon Domains

Organise projects with sub-domains like shop.yourdomain or blog.yourdomain. Plans range from 5 sub-domains on Personal to unlimited sub-domains plus one addon domain on Business, for a second website.

Yearly Billing from US$25

Shared plans are billed once a year, starting at US$25 for Personal and reaching US$79 for the largest plan. One annual payment keeps things simple and makes hosting one of the smallest costs of running a website.

A Clear Path to a Sydney VPS

When your site outgrows shared hosting or needs an Australian server location, you can move it to one of our Sydney KVM VPS plans with NVMe storage, an Australian IPv4 address and full root access.

Where Our Shared Web Hosting Is Located

It matters to know where your website lives, so here is the full picture. Our shared web hosting plans are served from a data centre in the Netherlands. Our VPS, dedicated server and RDP products are the ones located in our Tier III facility in Sydney.

For many small websites, a Netherlands location works perfectly well. Personal sites, portfolios, community pages, brochure sites and early-stage projects are usually light, and with sensible caching they load quickly for visitors anywhere. The benefit is cost: shared hosting from US$25 per year is far cheaper than any server.

Where location really matters is for sites whose visitors are almost all in Australia and where every fraction of a second counts, such as busy online shops, booking systems and web applications. These benefit from the shorter distance of a Sydney server. If that describes your project, start with a Sydney VPS, or begin on shared hosting and move later when traffic justifies it.

Comparing the Personal, Pro and Business Plans

The plan table on this page lists all four shared plans. Here is how the first three differ in practice:

Personal for a single small site

For US$25 per year, Personal gives you 1 GB of space, 25 GB of monthly bandwidth, 10 email accounts and 5 sub-domains. It suits a personal blog, a portfolio or a simple one-page business site.

Pro for growing small businesses

Pro, at US$39 per year, provides 5 GB of space, 60 GB of bandwidth, 75 email accounts and 10 sub-domains. It fits a small business site with a handful of staff mailboxes, a photo gallery or a modest WordPress site.

Business for more mailboxes and a second site

Business costs US$55 per year and includes 10 GB of space, 100 GB of bandwidth, 100 email accounts and unlimited sub-domains plus one addon domain, which lets you host a second website on the same plan. The largest plan in the range is US$79 per year for those who need a little more.

cPanel, DirectAdmin or Plesk: Choosing a Hosting Panel

All three panels let you manage a website through a browser, but each has its own strengths.

cPanel on Linux is the most widely used hosting panel in the world. Many tutorials and guides assume it, so it is a safe choice if you are new to hosting or are moving from another provider that used it. It covers file management, email, MySQL databases and DNS records.

DirectAdmin on Linux is lighter and simpler, with a clean interface and fast pages. It does everything most websites need without extra complexity and appeals to people who prefer a straightforward dashboard.

Plesk on Windows is the choice when your site is built with ASP.NET or other Microsoft technologies. It also has a polished interface and handles websites, email and databases from one place.

If your site uses PHP, WordPress or other common open-source software, choose cPanel or DirectAdmin. If it uses .NET, choose Plesk.

Linux Hosting or Windows Hosting for Your Site

The operating system behind your hosting should follow the technology your website uses.

Linux hosting with cPanel or DirectAdmin supports PHP, MySQL or MariaDB, and the huge range of open-source software built on them, including WordPress, Joomla, Drupal and many shopping carts. Most websites on the internet run on this kind of stack, and it is the default recommendation for new sites.

Windows hosting with Plesk is designed for sites built with ASP.NET and related Microsoft frameworks. If a developer has built your site in .NET, or your software vendor specifies Windows hosting, choose Plesk.

Visitors cannot tell which operating system is behind a site, so there is no advantage in picking one over the other for its own sake. Choose the one your site actually needs, and if you are not sure, ask your developer or open a ticket and tell us what the site is built with.

Setting Up Business Email for an Australian Domain

A professional email address on your own domain builds trust with customers. Every shared plan includes email accounts, from 10 on Personal to 100 on Business, which you create in your control panel in a few clicks.

Once your accounts exist, you can read mail in the webmail interface or connect it to Outlook, Apple Mail, Thunderbird or your phone using standard IMAP and SMTP settings shown in the panel.

To help your messages reach inboxes rather than spam folders, make sure your domain has the right DNS records. SPF tells receiving servers which systems may send mail for your domain, DKIM adds a digital signature to outgoing messages, and DMARC tells receivers how to handle mail that fails those checks. Your control panel can generate the SPF and DKIM records for you, and adding a basic DMARC record is a sensible next step.

Free SSL and Everyday Website Security

Every plan includes a free SSL certificate, and we install it for you. HTTPS encrypts traffic between your visitors and your site, protecting logins, contact forms and payment details. Browsers mark sites without HTTPS as not secure, which discourages visitors, so having SSL from day one is essential.

Beyond SSL, a few habits keep a shared hosting site safe:

  • Keep your website software, themes and plugins up to date.
  • Use strong, unique passwords for the control panel, email and site admin accounts.
  • Remove old plugins, test copies and unused scripts that could be exploited.
  • Download regular backups of your files and databases and keep copies on your own computer or cloud storage.
  • Use the minimum file permissions your software needs.

Most website compromises come from outdated software or weak passwords, so these simple steps prevent the majority of problems.

Making a Shared Site Fast for Australian Visitors

Because our shared hosting is served from the Netherlands, it is worth taking a few steps to keep pages quick for visitors in Australia and New Zealand:

  1. Use page caching. Caching plugins or built-in caching serve ready-made pages instead of building each one from scratch.
  2. Optimise images. Resize photos to the size they are displayed and use modern formats such as WebP.
  3. Add a content delivery network. A CDN stores copies of images, scripts and stylesheets in locations closer to your visitors, including in Australia, which hides much of the distance.
  4. Limit heavy add-ons. Every extra plugin, font and tracking script adds requests and delay.
  5. Enable compression. Gzip or Brotli compression shrinks text files before they travel.

With these in place, a small site on shared hosting can feel fast for most visitors. If your pages are dynamic and personalised, so they cannot easily be cached, a Sydney VPS will deliver the best local response time.

When to Move from Shared Hosting to a Sydney VPS

Shared hosting is a great starting point, but some signs suggest it is time to move to a server of your own in Sydney:

  • Most of your visitors are in Australia and you want the lowest possible latency.
  • Your site is dynamic, such as an online shop or member area, and caching cannot hide the distance.
  • You regularly approach the space or bandwidth limits of the largest shared plan.
  • You need software, settings or background processes a shared environment does not allow.
  • You want an Australian IP address for your site or email.

Our Sydney VPS plans start at US$34 per month with 1 vCPU, 2 GB of RAM, 40 GB of NVMe storage and an Australian IPv4 plus /128 IPv6 address. You get full root access, firewall and DDoS protection, and Linux or Windows. Moving a site is mainly a matter of copying files and databases and updating DNS, and we can advise you on the steps.

Transferring an Existing Website to Our Hosting

If your website is currently hosted elsewhere, moving it to one of our shared plans follows a simple pattern:

  1. Back up everything from your current host: website files, databases and email if you want to keep it.
  2. Create the account on your new plan and add your domain in the control panel.
  3. Upload files and import databases using the file manager, FTP and the database tools in cPanel, DirectAdmin or Plesk.
  4. Update configuration such as database names and passwords in your site's settings file.
  5. Preview the site using a hosts file entry before switching DNS.
  6. Point your domain to the new hosting by updating nameservers or DNS records.

If you are moving from another cPanel host, ask us in a ticket whether your full account backup can be restored directly, which can save time. Keep your old hosting active for a few days until you are sure everything, including email, works on the new account.

Ordering Shared Hosting and Paying Yearly

To get started, pick a plan from the table, choose your control panel and complete checkout in our client area. You can register a new domain at the same time, including a .com.au if you meet the registry's eligibility rules, or use a domain you already own.

Shared plans are billed yearly in US dollars. Payment methods include crypto, Visa, Mastercard, PayPal and bank transfer. Your control panel login details are sent once the account is active, and your free SSL certificate is installed for you.

We have been providing hosting since 2008. If you have a question about which plan or panel to choose, or whether your project would be better on a Sydney VPS, open a ticket from the client area and we will help you decide.

Q & A

Web Hosting FAQ: Questions & Answers

Is your shared web hosting located in Australia?

No. Our shared and WordPress hosting plans are served from a data centre in the Netherlands. Our VPS, dedicated servers and RDP packages are the products located in our Tier III Sydney facility. If you need your website hosted in Australia for the lowest local latency, choose a Sydney VPS plan instead.

How much does shared hosting cost per year?

Shared plans are billed yearly and range from US$25 to US$79. Personal is US$25 with 1 GB of space and 25 GB of bandwidth, Pro is US$39 with 5 GB and 60 GB, and Business is US$55 with 10 GB and 100 GB. The plan table shows every plan in full.

Which control panels can I choose for my hosting?

You can choose cPanel or DirectAdmin for Linux hosting, or Plesk for Windows hosting. cPanel is the most familiar for many users, DirectAdmin is lighter and simpler, and Plesk is ideal for ASP.NET sites. Pick the panel when ordering based on the technology your website is built with.

Is an SSL certificate included with the hosting plans?

Yes. Every shared plan includes a free SSL certificate, and we install it for you, so your website works over HTTPS from the start. SSL encrypts the connection between your visitors and your site, prevents browser security warnings and is expected by search engines and customers alike.

Can I host more than one website on a shared plan?

The Business plan includes one addon domain along with unlimited sub-domains, so you can run a second website on the same account. The Personal and Pro plans are designed for a single website with a set number of sub-domains, five and ten respectively. Sub-domains are useful for blogs, shops or test copies.

Will a Netherlands-hosted site be slow in Australia?

Visitors in Australia will see more latency than with a Sydney server, but for small, well-optimised sites the difference is often modest. Using page caching, optimised images and a content delivery network helps a lot. For busy shops or dynamic applications aimed at Australians, a Sydney VPS is the better choice.

Can I use a .com.au domain with shared hosting?

Yes. You can register a .com.au through us if you meet the registry's eligibility rules, or use one you already own. Simply point the domain's nameservers or DNS records to your hosting account. The server location does not affect your ability to use an Australian domain name for your website.

How do I upgrade from shared hosting to a Sydney VPS?

Order a Sydney VPS plan, set up your web stack or a control panel on it, copy your website files and databases across, and update your domain's DNS to the new server's Australian IP. Open a ticket if you would like advice on the right plan size or the migration steps.
